Presentation
The major is intended to seek understanding and productive alternatives in Brazil, mainly in the Cerrado biome. In that sense, the Agronomy major at UFTM aims to train agronomic engineers who are skilled to:
- Develop, coordinate and implement projects designed to introduce methods and agricultural practices that may sustainably explore plant and animal production systems;
- Plan and develop environmental management activities;
- Generate and disseminate methods and techniques of production and management involving education, research and extension in the field of agronomy;
Labor market
The graduate trained at the UFTM Agronomy major has an eclectic profile, having been trained to work for improving and maintaining the quality and productivity of crops and livestock. The professional may also work for the implementation of plant and animal production techniques together with farmers, multinational companies, government service companies, NGOs and individuals. The professional is responsible for monitoring the crop from planting, sale and storage of food; besides being skilled to work in the production, feeding and animal health (cattle, sheep and poultry).
Admission Options
Sisu - Students who are interested in applying for a place at UFTM must necessarily sign up and take the tests related to the National Examination of High School Education – Enem.
Transfer students - Intended for UFTM students who are attending related majors, as well as for students from other national or foreign higher education institutions who wish to transfer to the same major or to related majors.
Diploma holders – Intended for candidates who have already completed a higher education major and who are willing to attend a new undergraduate major at UFTM.
