The occupational therapy major provides students with a comprehensive training that comprises disciplines from health, human and social sciences, along with professionalizing disciplines that address: profession fundamentals, therapeutic resources, the different approaches in occupational therapy intervention, professionalizing internship, besides research and extension activities.
The UFTM graduate presents a generalist, humanist, critical and reflexive posture and is skilled to act in areas such as health, education and social field, through individual/group interventions and collective actions.
Labor market
The Occupational Therapist is trained to work in areas of: Education - such as schools of special and regular education, with children and adolescents with learning difficulties; Health – in Basic Units of Health, rehabilitation centers and hospitals, with populations with alterations in the motor, cognition and emotional aspects; in actions of prevention, promotion and rehabilitation, as well as in the social field, in services of social assistance, with populations under social vulnerability, always aiming at social inclusion.
Admission Options
Sisu - Students who are interested in applying for a place at UFTM must necessarily sign up and take the tests related to the National Examination of High School Education – Enem.
Transfer students - Intended for UFTM students who are attending related majors, as well as for students from other national or foreign higher education institutions who wish to transfer to the same major or to related majors.
Diploma holders – Intended for candidates who have already completed a higher education major and who are willing to attend a new undergraduate major at UFTM.
Readmission – Intended for students who are not enrolled anymore in any undergraduate major at UFTM but wish to return to their studies.
