Presentation
The languages major – teaching modality, Portuguese/Spanish – aims at training teachers and preparing them for developing their capacity of analysis, creativity, expressive and reflexive sense on verbal and nonverbal language and its technologies. The graduate will be qualified to teach in primary and high schools, to pursue a postgraduate career, as well as to carry out research in the various fields of language.
Labor market
The graduate will be qualified to teach in primary and high schools, to develop research in the different fields of language, in the methods and strategies for literacy and in the teaching of languages and literatures, besides being able to review and translate technical and literary texts. The graduate may also provide cultural advice in linguistics, language and literature; he/she may offer literary criticism in newspapers and magazines, may research language manifestation in different types of media, as well as develop works of preparation, revision and standardization of texts to be published.
Admission Options
Sisu - Students who are interested in applying for a place at UFTM must necessarily sign up and take the tests related to the National Examination of High School education – Enem.
Transfer students - Intended for UFTM students who are attending related majors, as well as for students from other national or foreign higher education institutions who wish to transfer to the same major or to related majors.
Diploma holders – Intended for candidates who have already completed a higher education major and who are willing to attend a new undergraduate major at UFTM.
Readmission – Intended for students who are not enrolled anymore in any undergraduate major at UFTM but wish to return to their studies.
