Physics Teaching

The undergraduate degree in Physics aims to train teachers with excellence to act at the basic education in a creative, critical-reflexive, democratic, ethical and committed way towards a transformative learning and from a theoretical-practical perspective. In order to achieve this goal, this major has a highly qualified teaching staff committed to education. Several institutional programs are also available, such as: PIBID (Institutional Program for Scholarship to beginner teachers), New Talents and PIBIC/PIBEX (Scholarships for Scientific Initiation and Extension).

Labor market

This field of activity is directed to schools of basic education, and there is also the possibility of acting in higher education institutions. The graduate also envisages the possibility of acting in other areas, for example: teaching and research laboratories and communication means of scientific dissemination. The labor market lacks such professionals, who can be integrated to the fast market even before the studies conclusion.

Admission Options 

Sisu - Students who are interested in applying for a place at UFTM must necessarily sign up and take the tests related to the National Examination of High School Education – Enem.

Transfer students - Intended for UFTM students who are attending related majors, as well as for students from other national or foreign higher education institutions who wish to transfer to the same major or to related majors.

Diploma holders – Intended for candidates who have already completed a higher education major and who are willing to attend a new undergraduate major at UFTM.

Readmission – Intended for students who are not enrolled anymore in any undergraduate major at UFTM but wish to return to their studies.
