The UFTM Environmental Engineering major aims to train engineers in the environmental area with a solid scientific knowledge base, endowed with ethical and political conscience, with a critical and global view of the economic, social, political and cultural conjecture of the region where he or she works. The trained professional should be able to understand and translate the needs of individuals, social groups and community with regards to technological, socioeconomic, managerial and organization problems, making rational use of the resources available and maintaining the environmental balance.
Labor market
The training of environmental engineers aims to fill the gap in the current labor market where there is a marked shortage of engineering professionals able to incorporate environmental management actions and environmental dynamic balance to the projects developed. Thus, environmental engineers work to optimize the use of natural resources and increase the efficiency of productive processes, preventing, minimizing or remediating negative environmental impacts, considering effective and adequate the relation between man´s activities and the environment.
Admission Options
Sisu - Students who are interested in applying for a place at UFTM must necessarily sign up and take the tests related to the National Examination of High School Education – Enem.
Transfer students - Intended for UFTM students who are attending related majors, as well as for students from other national or foreign higher education institutions who wish to transfer to the same major or to related majors.
Diploma holders – Intended for candidates who have already completed a higher education major and who are willing to attend a new undergraduate major at UFTM.
Readmission – Intended for students who are not enrolled anymore in any undergraduate major at UFTM but wish to return to their studies.
