This major aims at training professionals with humanistic characteristics, reflexive, generalist and critical capacities, who are skilled to act in all health care levels using consistent scientific basis. Such professionals may work in interdisciplinary teams, in the several health care areas (outpatient units, clinics, hospitals, health units, sports and recreational centers, among others) and carry out activities in areas of Education and Research. The graduate must always be conscious of the need for continuing education in order to improve and develop his / her professional life.
Labor market
This labor market has been daily expanding, evidencing the growth trend of the preventive work of physiotherapists working in health and/or educational community programs and companies. However, it is also emphasized the integration of such professionals to the hospital context. Thus, physiotherapists must be active, responsible, ethical, qualified and capable of serving in the various areas: preventive, hospital and clinical, educational and scientific, always performing in a dignifying posture.
Admission Options
Sisu - Students who are interested in applying for a place at UFTM must necessarily sign up and take the tests related to the National Examination of High School Education – Enem.
Transfer students - Intended for UFTM students who are attending related majors, as well as for students from other national or foreign higher education institutions who wish to transfer to the same major or to related majors.
Diploma holders – Intended for candidates who have already completed a higher education major and who are willing to attend a new undergraduate major at UFTM.
Readmission – Intended for students who are not enrolled anymore in any undergraduate major at UFTM but wish to return to their studies.
