Presentation

The Biomedicine major at UFTM is oriented to the training of professionals with generalist, humanist, critical and reflective knowledge to work in all health care levels, with basis on scientific and intellectual criteria. In this sense, the program is intended to train professionals for the development of actions aimed at health promotion and rehabilitation, disease prevention, always observing the ethics principles for the benefit of society.

 

Labor market

Having observed the necessary and specific qualifications, the activities that biomedicals can perform are, as follows: clinical analysis, physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of water, acupuncture, environmental analysis, bromatological analysis, pathological anatomy, audit, cytology, blood bank, bio-industry,  bio-company, diagnostic imaging, molecular biology, aesthetics, teaching, perfusion and toxicology, research, among others. However, although the work field is broad, the clinical analysis area is still the most sought after.

 

Admission Options

Sisu - Students who are interested in applying for a place at UFTM must necessarily sign up and attend the tests related to the National Examination of High School Education – Enem. 

Transfer students - Intended for UFTM students who are attending related majors, as well as for students from other national or foreign higher education institutions who wish to transfer to the same major or to related majors.

Diploma holders – Intended for candidates who have already completed a higher education major and who are willing to attend a new undergraduate major at UFTM.

Readmission – Intended for students who are not enrolled anymore in any undergraduate major at UFTM but wish to return to their studies.
